The residential field toward transition goals; potentials and measures to foster its development

The report aims to provide tools and methodologies for the planning of useful policy measures to promote the decarbonisation of the civil sector. With regard to the residential sector, it develops statistical methods for the characterization of the role of PDCs and the “Case Green” Directive.
The activity ends with an analysis for the realization of a PED in Turin and the analysis of load curves of Italian families.
As regards the tertiary sector, an analysis has been carried out with Nomisma Energia with the development of decarbonisation scenarios.

The proposed research activity faces the role and potential of the civil sector to encourage the decarbonisation process.

With regards to the residential sector, the report contains analyses of two studies carried out during the year. The first one aims to evaluate the strategic role of heat pumps (PDC) to decarbonize an important share of energy consumption related to the air conditioning of buildings. The second work aims to assess the impact of the commonly called “Green Houses” Directive in energy and economic terms.

Furthermore, the concept of Positive Energy District (PED) has been analysed with the aim of providing a method to develop a real district of Turin.
As regards the tertiary sector, decarbonisation scenarios have been developed providing different possible trajectories related to different specific emission reduction paths.

Concludes the report, the analysis of the average national load curves of Italian households, with the aim of supporting the evaluation of energy policies oriented to a more sustainable and energy efficient future.
