The enhancement of the RSE Test Facility involves the construction of a new medium voltage branch starting from the current distribution cabin, creating the conditions for a multi-terminal AC/DC hybrid system, expanding its current features. The laboratory can function both as a generation system and as a user and will be able to develop the control logic and for the evaluation of the management of power flows in steady state conditions.

This paper reports the feasibility analyses for the development of a portion of the Medium Voltage network within the Distributed Generation Test Facility. The aim in the three-year period is to create a multi-voltage hybrid MV/LV demonstrator in alternating current and direct current.
