Kick-off Meeting for the European BUSINESS2ACT Project

BUSINESS2ACT aims both to support companies in their transition towards clean energy by providing harmonised tools and methodologies for implementing the recommendations of energy audits and to assist EU member states in the transposition of the new energy efficiency directive, promoting a coordinated and consistent approach at European level.

On 2–3 February, the kick-off meeting of the European project BUSINESS2ACT was held in Rome at the premises of Acquirente Unico. The project is funded under the LIFE‑2024‑CET‑BUSINESS programme, which supports the energy transition of European enterprises.

Coordinated by Simone Maggiore from the SSE – Energy Systems Development Department of RSE, the project will run for three years and is linked to other European initiatives on industrial energy efficiency previously led by SSE, including EU‑MERCI, AUDIT2MEASURE and the upcoming METALDECARB. The consortium brings together partners from nine countries, supported by a network of stakeholders from more than 20 European nations.

BUSINESS2ACT aims both to support companies in their transition towards clean energy by providing harmonised tools and methodologies for implementing the recommendations of energy audits and to assist EU member states in the transposition of the new energy efficiency directive, promoting a coordinated and consistent approach at European level. The project also seeks to actively involve policymakers and standardisation bodies such as CEN/CENELEC.

The kick-off meeting was attended by Michele Benini, Fabio Lanati and Silvia Laera. The SSE Department expresses great satisfaction with the constructive discussions held with the partners, which lay the foundation for effective collaboration in support of the energy transition of enterprises.
