    • RSE dates back to the immediate post-war period, when the country’s energy system began to take shape.

    With the reform of the Italian electricity system in the 2000s, the sector underwent a major change, and CESI RICERCA was established in 2005 with the transfer of the CESI business unit.

    In 2009, the newly formed company was given a new name, ERSE S.p.A. (ENEA – Ricerca sul Sistema Elettrico), then 49% was acquired by GSE, Gestore Servizi Energetici, which became its sole shareholder the following year.

    RSE, Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico, was established on 21 July 2010 with the aim of developing research programs in the electricity sector.
