Electronic Technologies Laboratory

The Electronic Technologies Laboratory specializes in conducting tests on electronic devices and power grids. These tests include simulations and aim to evaluate the behavior of devices, inverters and other power equipment, under conditions of normal operation, disturbance and failure of the network itself, as well as the behavior of protection, monitoring and control systems.

In addition, the laboratory develops advanced strategies to measure power quality and can involve communication to coordinate the functionality of devices being tested.

With regard to grid devices and interactions with power circuits, tests are conducted using an OPAL-RT EMegaSim real-time simulator, which allows even severe failure events to be safely reproduced on large, high-power networks.
