Smart grids, RSE at ISGAN and CEM meetings in Bali

TTD Department Director attends the ‘Annual Gathering’ of Mission Innovation and the ‘Senior Officials Meeting’ of Clean Energy Ministerial.

Luciano Martini, Director of RSE TTD – Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department, spoke as Director of GPFM – Green Powered Future Mission and Chair of ISGAN – International Smart Grid Action Network at the Mission Innovation (MI) and Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) meeting held in Bali on May 15-17. In particular, RSE actively participated in and contributed to several sessions, and described the successful experiences of GPFM and ISGAN.

The yearly event, known as the ‘Annual Gathering’ of MI and the ‘Senior Officials Meeting’ of CEM, brought together industry experts, delegates and official representatives of global initiatives to discuss key themes of the energy transition ahead of the ministerial meeting to be held in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, next October.

In addition to the many scheduled events, GPFM had the opportunity to organize an internal meeting with some members of the Mission, including China, Italy, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Spain, and South Africa (the latter as an observer), aimed at confirming GPFM’s commitment to the ministerial meeting in Brazil, coordinating on key deliverables and commitments planned for 2024. ISGAN, on the other hand, organized an event dedicated to the ‘Lighthouse Project,’ discussing the importance of planning and implementing distribution networks under uncertain conditions, and shedding light on the challenges and opportunities of smart grids.
