Studies on the development of the national electricity system and grid

The aim of this project is to develop studies, tools and methodologies that can promote the transformation and development of the electricity system according to criteria of cost-effectiveness, security and environmental sustainability.

The research activities concern the development scenarios of the Italian electricity system and its interconnections with European and Mediterranean countries, the safety of the current electricity infrastructures and the regulatory measures necessary to maintain an adequate level of quality of supply. The project benefits from the synergy with numerous European research projects, of which RSE is the coordinator:
