FExWaveS application for voltage dips origin assessment: optimization of the tool in views of its integration into the QuEEN monitoring system

This article presents the integration of the FExWaveS application into the QuEEN distribution network monitoring system.

The application estimates a shape factor associated with each voltage dip, necessary for classifying the origin of voltage interruptions, that is, to assess the cause of the events (peak-trough of the measurement point). Classification is performed by a Machine Learning algorithm. Integration into the QuEEN system was achieved through QuEEN PyService, an automated tool developed by RSE for extracting voltage signals of events from the QuEEN database. This application allowed for the integration of the FExWaveS classifier into a real-world scenario, enabling, for the first time, intensive validation of the classifier on a large number of voltage dips.
