LCA of electric micromobility: electric scooters and pedal-assisted bicycles to replace the private car for home-to-work commutes

This work analyses electric scooters and e-bikes to evaluate urban light mobility potential environmental impacts during home-work trips, considering a Life Cycle Assessment approach.

Urban light electric mobility can help to reach decarbonization targets, improve life quality and reduce congestion. Electric scooters and e-bikes are rapidly increasing, so it is necessary to evaluate these solutions sustainability comparing them with private car use.

 

This study evaluates urban light mobility potential environmental impacts during home-work trips, considering a Life Cycle Assessment approach.

 

Results show that light mobility electric vehicles generate low impacts than private cars.
