Activities Performed by RSE in 2019 in Support of Institutions, Public Administrations, and Working Groups in the Field of Electric Mobility

Summary of the activities carried out by RSE in 2019 to support institutions and within working groups. Specifically, support was provided to Ministries, the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment, the Lombardy Region, the “e-Mob” Working Group, the ACI Observatory “Moving with Energy,” and the Technology Collaboration Program “Hybrid & Electric Vehicle” of the IEA.

Support to institutions and participation in working groups represent a fundamental aspect of the electric mobility project, allowing the sharing of analysis results from the Technical Activity Lines with decision-makers and enabling more informed regulatory actions. This document aims to summarize the main occasions/activities carried out to support institutions or within working groups during 2019. These activities involved the following subjects and themes:

    • Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport: Support in identifying technological solutions for the creation of the National Unified Platform. Support in quantifying the environmental impact of electric vehicles compared to other traction technologies. Contribution to the PNIEC (National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan) and the National Sustainable Mobility Plan, which were open for consultation by the Ministries. Participation in the Hydrogen Table.

    • Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and the Environment (ARERA): Support for the technical and economic deepening of aspects related to charging both in domestic and public settings.

    • Lombardy Region: Participation in the “Sustainable Mobility” Working Group. Support for experimentation and planning of the regional charging infrastructure. Support in defining economic support schemes by the Region.

    • “e-Mob” Working Group: Participation in the group’s activities, contributing to the drafting of the “Essential Handbook for Electric Vehicle Owners” and the organization of the “National Electric Mobility Conference.”

    • ACI Observatory “Moving with Energy”: Participation in the group’s activities and contribution to the drafting of the final technical document on the state of the art, future prospects, and the impact of electric mobility on the network and the environment.

  • International Energy Agency (IEA), Technology Collaboration Program “Hybrid & Electric Vehicle”: Participation in the activities of Task 43 and related thematic workshops.

As evident from the above, the request for technical support directed to RSE in 2019 was significant, reflecting the trust placed in the results and evaluations provided on the topic of electric and sustainable mobility.
