Further applications of Cu2FeSnS4 monograins in the field of energy

Preliminary study of the potential of Cu2FeSnS4 monocrystals (CFTS) as anodes for sodium-ion batteries.

This report complements the activity described in the RdS deliverable 22014097 on further energy applications of Cu2FeSnS4 monocrystalline grains (CFTS). These materials have been synthesized in collaboration with TalTech, a research center in Tallinn, for photovoltaic applications in thin-film solar cells made from Mono-Grain Layer (MGL) technology.

This report describes the testing activity of the same material for another extremely important technology in the decarbonization of the energy system, electrochemical storage devices. From an internal collaboration between RSE researchers from RdS projects 1.01 and 1.02, preliminary studies were carried out to understand the real potential of these monocrystals as anode materials in electrochemical storage devices based on sodium ions.
