Specifications for the structuring of contents of interest for the development of a web platform dedicated to the hydrogen supply chain

The report contains preliminary indications for the structuring of contents of interest for the development of a digital platform dedicated to the hydrogen supply chain, intended as a suitable tool for storing, disseminating and sharing information on hydrogen – an energy carrier for decarbonisation – to the benefit of all stakeholders. The report describes the thematic categories of content that will populate the platform and the related structure.

For some years now, at both the national and international level, we have been seeing an important recovery of the entire value chain of hydrogen, which is a strategic energy carrier for the energy system decarbonisation process as well as for achieving climate and environmental goals in the medium-long term term.
Many initiatives and activities regarding hydrogen are underway in both RSE and various national and international contexts, and this has led to the idea of collecting the numerous information on the hydrogen value chain on a single web platform.
This report is the first documentation of the activity carried out for developing the web platform: In this first phase, the said activity is necessarily preparatory to the project, as this is the first year the topic is being addressed.
Therefore, this report first describes the reasons that led to the idea of giving specifications for the structuring of the contents that will populate the digital platform, indicating the usefulness and benefits that it could have.
We then try to better focus on the type of tool we intend to create as well as the goals we want to achieve, bringing as support and inspiration some examples of successful web platforms widely used in different contexts (European and international) on different issues of the energy system and world.
Finally, an indication of the contents considered of interest for the platform is provided, with their possible logical structuring and reference to the categories of the hydrogen value chain (production, transport, storage, end uses) as well as transversal categories ( costs, scenarios, law), the different areas of application (experiments and projects) and the opportunity to share information among potential users of the platform (knowledge sharing).
As anticipated, the entire activity is preparatory and does not claim to be exhaustive: at a later time, the structuring of the contents could be modified to better meet the needs of platform users.
In any case, the main result we want to account for is the definition of the contents of interest and their preliminary logical structuring by functional categories
