The fourth edition of the Libro Bianco sulle Pompe di Calore [white paper on heat pumps]

Chapter X by RSE: the view of Energy Efficiency Research Group Leader Marco Borgarello and Lorenzo Croci, Francesca Talamo, Ennio Brugnetti, Francesco D’Oria and Stefano Sabbatini of the Energy Systems Development Department.

Europe has embarked on a plan to progressively decarbonize the economy. By incentivizing energy efficiency and the use of renewables, the plan is expected to bring Europe to the net zero goal by 2050, with the intermediate objective to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 as defined by the Fit for 55 program.

Central to the strategy is the goal of deeply transforming the housing stock, promoting consumption reduction through a significant energy upgrading plan and incentivizing the electrification of services. buildings are in fact responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in the EU.

‘Energy Efficiency’ Research Group Leader Marco Borgarello, Lorenzo Croci, Francesca Talamo, Ennio Brugnetti, Francesco D’Oria and Stefano Sabbatini of the Energy Systems Development Department discuss this issues in Chapter X of the fourth edition of the Libro Bianco sulle Pompe di Calore [white paper on heat pumps], produced by Assoclima and presented on July 13, 2023 in Milan at the Public Meeting.
