The Report summarizes the contributions of RSE in the context of international initiatives (IEA-Bioenergy) and of the technical regulations relating to the theme of the relationship between energy and the circular economy. Regarding the standardization, this Report updates on the activities done in 2023 in the field of energy recovery from waste and Solid Recovery Fuels (SRF, CSS in Italy), carried out at national (UNI CTI CT 283 – Energy from waste) and international level (ISO TC 300 – Solid Recovered Materials including Solid Recovered Fuels).

In addition, information is provided on the progress of the ongoing standardization activities and their potential impact in the specific sectors of the Waste to energy (WtE) and the circular economy Regarding the IEA cooperation activities, this Report summarizes the main technical feedbacks obtained from the RSE participation to the annual activities of Task 36 of the TCP IEA Bioenergy- Material and energy valorisation of waste in a circular economy, emphasizing the results expected and achieved during 2023.
