● Luciano Martini – Director, Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department – RSE Special session on “Mission Innovation and the decarbonisation of the power sector by clean Energy Innovation” 20 June 2018 (11-12:30 + 14:30-16)

● Federico Cernuschi – Head of research group,  RSE
Special session on Mission Innovation and the decarbonisation of the power sector by clean Energy Innovation   “Activity and main achievements from IC#6 on clean energy materials” 20 June 2018 (14:10-14:30)

Mission Innovation (MI) is a global initiative that currently involves 22 countries and the European Union to dramatically accelerate global clean energy innovation. As part of the initiative, participating countries have committed to seek to double their governments’ clean energy R&D investments over five years, while encouraging greater levels of private sector investment in transformative clean energy technologies. The workshop will provide the participants with the opportunity to get updated information about the present status of MI and its future steps. Initial main achievements and ongoing activity for two specific Innovation Challenges – Smart grids and Clean Energy Materials – will be presented and discussed.

Moreover, the MI approach strongly based on the country’s government commitment and the needed industry involvement in order to promote technology advances, will be discussed during a roundtable focusing on smart grids, involving international panellists from different energy sectors and the audience to collect useful feedback to shaping the future activity.
