In questa memoria verranno presentati i risultati a seguito dell’installazione presso EURAC del sistema di monitoraggio sviluppato da RSE, e verrà messo in evidenza il netto miglioramento per quanto riguarda l’intervallo di confidenza dei risultati.
The number of photovoltaic installations in Italy is constantly increasing, so that an outdoor performance analysis of various types of PV modules is useful. The purpose to assess and compare the performance of different types of modules in specific geographical locations, under various climatic conditions and to identify benefits/losses given by a specific surrounding context, is very important to evaluate the energetic behaviour of future installations and direct them toward the most suitable technology to apply. The installations taken into consideration are located in Bolzano, Milan and Catania, allowing comparison among three different Italian climate conditions and irradiance levels: the Alpine region,the upper Padana valley, and the see-side area in Sicily. In Bolzano, a multi-technology ground-mounted PV field is taken into analysis. The plant, has a total peak power of 724 kWp. It is divided into two main parts: a 662 kWpcommercial installation, mounting 8538 CdTe modules First Solar 277, and a 62 kWp experimental installation, mounting 24 different types of modules, divided into groups ranging between 1 and 2 kW each. For Milan and Catania, two multi-section PV power plants are monitored. Each plant is made by 8 sections of different technologies: polycrystalline silicon, high-performance monocrystalline silicon, CIGS, CdTe and amorphous silicon. The power of each PV plant is around 10 kWp. The power production in Milan and Catania is monitored with a special system to evaluate the current and voltage specific values on the DC and AC side of the inverter, allowing also a comparison with the inverter monitoring system, which is used in Bolzano Results are provided in a comparative way among the three considered geographical locations. They include evaluations on performance indicators and on different PV technologies concerning their power output and energy performance expressed by various performance indicators. Conclusions are based on the monitoring results registered for the upcoming months. Possible issues related to monitoring activities, as well as the performance of different PV technologies, are highlighted. The results are specific for the three indicated areas, but will also be indicative for locations with similar characteristics.
