focus on T&D network Antonio Negri* International Standards to promote Energy Efficiency and Reduce Carbon Emission Parigi, 16-17 Marzo 2009 PRESENTAZIONE POWER POINT * CESI RICERCA The presentation, prepared on behalf of CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems), explores the situation of the Electric Power System (EPS), as far as Energy Efficiency is concerned, with a special focus on the T&D Network. The future network evolution is briefly described, and some data are given about network losses, in the various stages of the T&D process. Some examples of efficiency improvement are then presented, both at component and at system level. Finally, the role of standardization in the efficiency improvement process is analyzed and the areas where more efforts are needed are highlighted
