    electricity network in metropolitan areas Franco Sala*, Stefano Maran* INPUT ‘08 – Conferenza nazionale in Informatica e Pianificazione Urbana e Territoriale Lecco, 4-6 Marzo 2009 * CESI RICERCA In this paper we report results of research activities aimed to the analysis and quantification of interference between landscape and the High Voltage electricity network in metropolitan areas. Two methods are developed at a different level of detail. The first was applied to the conurbation around Milan at an intermediate scale. The second was used to explore at a local scale the possibility of a quantitative assessment of the visual impact. The common thread linking both activities is the test of actual capabilities of Geographic Information Systems in order to support advanced models for planning and rearrangement of the electricity grid.
