Steam reforming of methane in equilibrium membrane reactors and integration in a power cycle

The methane steam reforming is studied in an equilibrium membrane reactor. The model supposes the reactor as partitionable in many equilibrium stages where the membrane separates a certain amount of the hydrogen formed.

The reactor performance was studied by varying the operating conditions (inlet temperature, temperature profiles, pressure in both reaction and sweep gas side, etc.) and the membrane characteristics. The aim is to minimize the energy consumption and the membrane area required in order to consider this reactor in a power cycle.
