Tertiary Sector Maria Rosaria Alabiso*, Walter Bruno Grattieri* 7th Expert Meeting of IEA Annex 45 Energy Efficient Electric Lighting for Buildings Roma 31 Marzo, 2 Aprile 2008 *CESI RICERCA* This paper highlights the results, for what regards indoor lighting, of a sample survey on energy consumption in the tertiary sector, carried out in 2004 in Italy. The study focused on the end uses for indoor lighting in a sample of buildings, for which typical features have been individually assessed: namely the lighting needs (both in terms of number and type of lamps installed, and of operation hours) and the corresponding electricity consumption. The analysis, carried out for all the branches of the tertiary sector, concentrated on the potential savings obtainable with enhanced energy efficiency in the premises with the largest number of lighting points and greater lighting hours (Retail, Office, Hospital, Hotel, Education, …). The result of the job provides indications on the mapping of the lamps stock and on the average specific consumptions, by users and light source, accompanied from the estimate of the potential savings obtainable with the best lighting technologies.
