Investigation and diagnostic tools comparison: infrared thermography VS electroluminescence

Lo scopo di questo studio è di identificare la migliore tecnica diagnostica, tra termografia ed analisi ad elettroluminescenza, finalizzata a valutare lo stato di salute di moduli fotovoltaici ed individuare i più comuni meccanismi di degrado, in condizioni indoor (di laboratorio) e outdoor (in campo).

This paper presents the comparison of two PV modules diagnostic/inspection methods in the field. The comparison of infrared thermography and electroluminescence has been performed with the practical experience from the measurements.

The committee draft 82/1109/CD (IEC/TS 60904-12 Ed. 1.0 Photovoltaic devices – Part 12: Infrared thermography of photovoltaic modules) and committee draft 82/1062/CD (IEC/TS 60904-13 Ed. 1.0 Photovoltaic devices – Part 13: Electroluminescence of photovoltaic modules) were taken into account. The aim of this work is to identify the best diagnostic tool for assessing the performance of photovoltaic modules and identifying the most commons failure causes in outdoor and indoor conditions.
