LegoPST model of HELIOS test facility

The paper reports the correlations set in the code for evaluating the reference pressure drop. The isothermal pressure drop of the HELIOS loop, related to a low mass flow rate (2.43 kg/s) and a high mass flow rate (13.57 kg/s), calculated with LegoPST are reported, together with satisfying comparisons with the values experimentally measured.

LegoPST is a software suite for the dynamic plant simulation widely used by ERSE both in conventional field and in LWR modeling. Recently, this tool has been extended to model Lead Fast Reactor power plants and a validation activity is ongoing. The paper gives an overview of the LegoPST suite and some details about one of these code validation activities, focused on the modeling of the ‘HELIOS’ test facility, a lead- bismuth closed loop managed by Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea.
