    E’ illustrato il sistema di monitoraggio della corrosione sviluppato da RSE, che è in grado di misurare in linea il consumo di provini esposti in caldaia. Sono riportati i risultati di varie campagne di monitoraggio effettuate in un grande impianto di co-combustione di carbone e CSS e in un termovalorizzatore di rifiuti urbani.

    RSE developed a new corrosion monitoring system, suitable to be installed in harsh environments, whose most innovative feature is the possibility to measure on-line the consumption, due to the corrosion, of materials exposed into the boiler. Four long-term (8-15 months) campaigns of corrosion monitoring were carried out by RSE system into the boiler of a 320 MW Unit of a large Italian co-firing plant, fed by bituminous coal and Refused Derived Fuel at 5% of the boiler thermal load, aimed to characterize different materials used for the convective bundles or the membrane wall of the combustion chamber both in the current operating conditions of the plant or simulating the operation of co-firing with simultaneous Ultra Super Critical steam cycle. Long-term corrosion monitoring campaigns were also in progress in a municipal waste incinerator located in northern Italy, exposing into the boiler at different temnperatures samples with and without a protecitive cladding of alloy 625.
